Chenille stems and pom poms are a little like the duct tape of the crafting world: The ways in which you can use these craft basics are almost endless! Chenille stems are basically pipe cleaners--yes, the ones that many of us remember from grade school crafts--but they have a new name befitting the fancier materials that are now available. They come in many colors and styles, including tinsel stems and bump chenille, which is a thicker, more plush version of the regular chenille stem. The wire at the center of a chenille stem bends easily, which allows you to join them into shapes, chains, and more.
